NGSS Compliant Introduction to Engineering Teacher Workshop

The workshop was conducted on July 1, 2015 at Michigan State University. Fifteen (15) school teachers from all over the US participated in this event. The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the integration of the CHPP activities into school curriculum. School teachers were engaged in lecture related to pavement preservation general concepts and related research activities being conducted in the CHPP. The teachers were also involved in transportation engineering laboratory tours and hands-on experimental activities related to pavement education. The outreach and research experience for teachers (RET) coordinators presented ways in which such activities can be used in the Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS) aligned engineering curriculum.
